Simple Valentines Breakfast Table
I’m excited today to be participating a tablescape hop with Chloe from Celebrate and Decorate. I have trouble with romantic tables. It’s always a challenge so I’m excited to get ideas from my fellow bloggers.
I decided to go with a red and back theme for Valentines and redecorated my hutch in silver and white. I had a great helper with my silver. My dad is a master at polishing silver and he is always looking for projects. I didn’t have any polish, but did you know you can use toothpaste?
It turns out Colgate is the best, and white toothpaste works much better than gel. We ran a test using all of the leftover tubes of toothpaste. Next time you are in a pinch to polish your silver give it a try. Look how happy he is doing it?
Simple Breakfast Table for Valentines
I’m more excited about the hutch than I am the table, but Valentines is a good time to refresh. The plates are black and white check salad plates (gifted to me), with a simple white plate. I find I use a white plate to serve most food on because I think the food looks better. My accent plates are the decorative ones.
Since it’s breakfast, we are having a cranberry fizz and heart shaped stuffed french toast. Cranberry The napkins are white linen from Target. The table runner is from IKEA.

What a sweetie your dad is to polish all your silver! And that’s a good tip about Colgate toothpaste.
The table and the hutch look great. Like you, red and black are the colors I went with this year.
Your table looks especially nice with the black hutch and the way you decorated it.
Happy Valentine’s Day đŸ™‚
Andrea, I love that photo of your dad helping out. Isn’t it wonderful to have your parents close by and to have them help out. I know how much they love helping us out! The red and black are not only good for Valentine’s Day, but they are also perfect for a cozy winter table! Stay warm and cozy with one you love!
Andrea, I love your simple and sweet Valentine tablescape. Thanks for the tip on polishing silver! Blessings, Cecilia @My Thrift Store Addiction
How nice to have your Dad to help with silver polishing. I did not know toothpaste worked well on silver. I did know you could clean your rings with it!
Happy Valentine’s! Your red runner is the perfect red and it stands out beautifully on your black table. I also like your black hutch.
The red and black plaid makes a dramatic statement on your table.
Nice blog hopping with you again.
Andrea, what a sweet table for two! I am a huge fan of Buffalo check, so I am loving your plates! The bold red runner really makes a statement against the backdrop of the black table, and your hutch with the shiny silver pieces . I did know about the toothpaste trick! As a youngster my job to earn some extra pocket money was to polish my Nana’s extensive silver spoon collection, and when I ran out of polish she always brought me a tube of toothpaste! Happy Valentine’s Day!
How wonderful to have a silver polisher! I didn’t know the toothpaste trick! I love the simplicity of your setting Andrea, and it would definitely appeal to men with the buffalo check plates and red and black color scheme. Breakfast sounds wonderful! Love the cranberry cocktails!
Love the look of your table for two with your hutch as backdrop! The silver serving pieces look fabulous, and the photo of your dad polishing is precious. Happy February, Andrea, and Happy Valentine’s Day to you and your loved ones.
Can I borrow your dad lol? Is the only person I’ve ever heard of that likes to polish silver! I did know about toothpaste, but I always seem to forget that tip when it’s time to polish. It must mind block because its something I hate doing — but love all my vintage family silver! I was eyeing all the lovely pieces you had in the hutch. A pretty, festive setting for Valentines Day!
I had no idea about using toothpaste to polish silver! I’ve used the baking soda and foil method but I’ll have to give the toothpaste a try! Pretty table – I love the black and red checks and that red runner. Great hopping with you again!

Your Dad looks like he is having a good time and it’s so kind of him to help out. I love the simplicity of your table and I could use one of those cranberry fizzes right about now.
Andrea, the photo of your dad polishing the silver is priceless. I have always heard that about Colgate, but have never tried it. The black hutch looks wonderful. Red and black is a great combo for Valentine’s and always works for winter. I love the simplicity of your table. Happy Valentine’s Day!

Andrea, I must say that I loved both your well dressed hutch and your lovely table. They both coordinate so well together, each complementing one and the other. It is so wonderful to see your father happily polishing your silver. It is a great tip to use toothpaste if one does not have any more polishing cream. You have a very lovely collection of silver pieces and the hutch display makes them stand out-front and center. The elegant simplicity of your table brings out the stunning display of your silver collection in your hutch. Definitely, they both capture your attention and leave a lasting impression.
Andrea, you dad is such a dear to help with polishing silver. It can be such a chore! Thanks for sharing the tip about toothpaste. I’ll have to give that a try. Your hutch looks just beautiful styled for the season, and your Valentine’s table is so pretty with the red and black color theme.
Andrea, I love the casual elegance of your Valentine’s breakfast for two tablescape. It looks striking against the backdrop of your black hutch filled with silver pieces.
