Amy,

That's the exact size the formula suggests. With 8' ceilings, I would suggest getting one that doesn't hang down very far (unless it's over a table in the middle). What a nice walk in closet!

Hi!
I have a walk in closet 10’ x 12’. 8 f ceiling. Would a 24” x 24” chandelier be too large?
Thanks!

I found that using a traverse curtain rod works best over a long opening like this. No special rings needed and you can smoothly pull curtains past brackets. Wish I knew they existed before I bought my other rods. Thanks for the tips about C rings, I may get them for my windows.

In reply to Carol Anderson.

Carol,

Thanks for watching and commenting! I haven't done a post specifically about slip covers. That's too complicated for me to DIY, if that's what you want to try. I bought mine at Crate and Barrel, it's the Willow slip covered sofa. I do love it and wash it.

If you want to try something DIY I recommend the channel Mimzy and Company on Youtube. She does a lot of upholstery and tutorials and is really good.

If it's a good sofa, reupholstering can be expensive but worth it.

hi, love your website.
I’m so glad I saw 2 of your videos about sofa sizes, fabrics, etc.
At the very end you mentioned slip covers. Have you talked about slipcovers somewhere on the site?
I have a sofa that has 3 back cushions that are attached and I have been told I would have to detach the cushions from the back and sew something on the back the 3 spots where the cushions were attached - a lot of work. Could you imagine a project like that? Where did you buy yours? Should I just have it reupholstered?

Kathiuska,

That is a really good observation and I hadn't thought of it. I will try to find an example to add that has no wood trim to share. OR, I have an idea. If you send me a photo of your room and what color you want I will try to show you in photoshop how it would look drenched in that color, designmorsels@gmail.com

I hope this helps.

I love color drenching and want to try it for my guest room. However, I feel the walls need to have some type of trims, pattern. I just don't know if drenching on plain walls will look right. I noticed on all the pictures, there are some type of trim, baseboards and crown molding. Your thoughts.
